In this episode, Luke & Jed touch on the events that made up the week that was: bracket action from Maryland and Alabama, the NHRA national event in Denver, and divisionals from Sonoma and Epping.  They sit down for a chat with back-to-back NHRA Mile High Nationals Super Comp winner Kris Whitfield, and breakdown the bottom bulb All-State Challenge roster.  The episode as a whole takes a somber tone following a massive loss to the sportsman racing community.

In this episode, Luke & Jed cover the IHRA event in Maryland and NHRA across the country in Oregon, but they spend the bulk of the show discussing the JEGS Summer Door Car Shootout.  The event had its highs and lows for both: from a massive car and spectator count, to a fantastic wheelie contest, to a young new champion, to getting stuck in the mud & Jed’s unfortunate encounter with a concrete barrier.  They discuss it and much more on this week’s Sportsman Drag Racing Podcast.

This week, Luke & Jed do their best to tackle a monumental weekend in sportsman drag racing.  Dan Fletcher earned his milestone 100th NHRA national event win in Chicago.  At the same event, David Rampy picked up his 95th win, and Luke himself became the 25th driver in NHRA history to double at a national event.  Meanwhile, Jed had a big weekend of his own, hosting the 11th annual BTE World Footbrake Challenge.  They discuss all that, and catch up with the man of the hour himself: Dan Fletcher.  Plus Luke rants in the newest segment of the podcast, This Week’s Final Thought.

In this episode, Luke & Jed breakdown the upcoming JEGS All-Stars competition.  In addition, they take an opportunity to catch up with NHRA Top Fuel ace Clay Millican.  Clay shares his incredible story: from a local racer scratching together pennies to make races along the IHRA tour in Modified eliminator, to Top Fuel world champion (6 times over), to legitimate NHRA contender.  He recaps his emotional victory in Bristol on Father’s Day, and enlightens us all on some of the nuances of professional competition.
